Fitbit Project

Fitbit Infographic & Exhibit
Exhibition Design
Information Design

For my information design semester at North Carolina State University, I was asked to research a designed object, specifically Fitbit, and then present an infographic and exhibition on Fitbit and its use. After observing and speaking with numerous fitbit users, I decided to explore the gamification of fitness and why users quit using fitness wearables. I did a market review of the different various fitness trackers available and of the phone apps that turn fitness into games.

First I created an infographic that covers all of the information I collected, including who uses fitness trackers, how often users quit, and the history of gamified fitness.

After creating the infographic, I narrowed down the information into a timeline that could be presented as an exhibition. I saw this information being displayed in a store or corporate setting. I wanted large and active images that would draw the user to explore the information, while still being visually appealing from a distance.
